  • 100 prospective jurors were brought in and given questionnaires. Over 40 of the 100 potential jurors were dismissed based on bias or issues with sequestration or hardship.
  • Many prospective jurors were individually questioned based on answers as to knowledge of case or hardship.  18 still must be questioned individually, which will resume at 8:30 AM.  40 new jurors will be brought in tomorrow and individually questioned if necessary.
  • The remaining jurors will be questioned as a group tomorrow afternoon.  Judge Healey said he wants at least 60 jurors to be sat for primary lawyer questioning.  He has about half of that now.
  • A 12 member and 2-4 alternate jury will be picked therefrom and be sequestered.  If a jury cannot be chosen, the entire trial will be tried in another county.
  • Lucia McBath and Ron Davis were supported before trial by Trayvon Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, and Oscar Grant’s Uncle Bobby (aka Cephus Johnson), as well as Emmett Till’s family. Photo Credit- Jacob Long, First Coast News.
