Experienced Trial Paralegal

We are looking for a paralegal who is experienced in personal injury and wrongful death civil litigation for our Jacksonville office. We practice mostly in Florida state courts, but also have cases in Georgia and Federal court. A paralegal certificate or applicable Associate or Bachelor’s degree is required. Florida Justice Association membership, Registration and other leadership experience in the field will be rewarded. The Paralegal is responsible for the following duties, which include but are not limited to:
  • Experienced with trial preparation;
  • Knowledge of Florida and/or Federal and/or Georgia Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of Evidence and Rules of Professional Conduct;
  • Knowledge of personal injury, civil rights and/or wrongful death cases;
  • Continuous review and management of case files;
  • Working knowledge and experience of e-Filing in both State and Federal Court systems;
  • Prepare initial discovery, i.e., interrogatories, request for production, request for admissions;
  • Journal deadlines for responses and monitor for timeliness;
  • Prepare deposition and medical record summaries;
  • Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, chronologies, deposition and/or trial binders for use by attorneys;
  • Investigate facts as requested by attorney, including experience in advanced social media and internet investigation.

Case Manager

Our office is hiring a case manager to assist our clients with pre-suit personal injury claims. We practice mostly in Florida state courts, but also have cases in Georgia and Federal court. Successful candidates will be responsible for handling claims from inception to settlement. The position entails extensive contact with clients, insurance adjusters and medical providers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Work with highly skilled and passionate lawyers while:

  • Opening new files.
  • Gathering and analyzing intake information and relevant documents.
  • Fully investigating each case with a team of professionals.
  • Maintain contact with clients on regular basis.
  • Verify insurance coverage and maintain contact with insurance company.
  • Assist clients with medical care management.
  • Explain procedures or forms to clients.
  • Prepare documents and correspondence such as demand letters, billing inquiries, etc.
  • Draft settlement demand packages.
  • Relay settlement negotiation from attorney to clients and adjusters utilizing demands/offers in Trial Works.
  • Collect documentation of all damages sustained such as medical records, bills and loss of income.
  • Read and interpret medical records and reports.
  • Organize and maintain case files.
  • Organize tangible damages utilizing special damages in Client Profiles.
  • Diary files using to-do’s in Client Profiles so as to work each file at least every 4-5 weeks.

Position Requirements:

  • Must have strong work ethic and be able to work well in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have great people skills as the position requires a great deal of client contact.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Must to be able to prioritize work and work under pressure.
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented.
  • Must have computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and legal software. Knowledge of Trial Works is helpful.
  • Knowledge of medical terms and traumatically induced conditions is helpful.
  • Knowledge of insurance coverage types and policies is helpful.
  • Prior experience as bodily injury insurance adjuster highly preferred.

Legal Assistant

We are looking for a legal assistant for our Jacksonville or Jacksonville Beach office. 3-5 years of Legal Assistant experience is required. The Legal Assistant is responsible for the following duties, which include but are not limited to:
  • Ability to work in a faced paced environment;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to take direction from attorneys, paralegals and/or case managers;
  • Must have strong multi-tasking skills;
  • A general knowledge of the legal process;
  • Excellent phone skills;
  • Excellent typing skills;
  • Strong Computer knowledge with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Trial Works;
  • Is on time every day;
  • Can start working immediately;
  • Professionalism is a must for this position;
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.

Receptionist (bilingual preferred)

We are looking for a receptionist for our Jacksonville or Jacksonville Beach office. The Receptionist is responsible for the following duties, which include but are not limited to:
  • Front desk operations including answering busy phones and responding to incoming calls, greeting and directing visitors and general administrative duties for staff;
  • Assist with data entry and filing as needed;
  • Must be professional in all aspects, be compassionate and friendly, honest and dependable;
  • Self starter who does not need a lot of day to day supervision;
  • Is on time every day;
  • A general knowledge of the legal process;
  • Bilingual a plus.
