Attorney Reid Hart and TC Roberts Speak with Client Lucia McBathReid is the lead criminal defense attorney at the Law Offices of John M. Phillips and represents clients in all areas of criminal defense. He has experience in handling cases from the investigative role through jury trial.

Reid graduated Cum Laude from the Stetson University College of Law, ranking in the top 10% of his class. A recipient of the Victor O. Wehle Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy and William F. Blews Award for Pro Bono Service in law school, he is on his way to becoming an award winning lawyer. Although he is a Jacksonville native, Reid earned his law degree and worked at law firms in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area. He remained in the St. Petersburg area after law school where he gained invaluable experience working as a criminal defense attorney.

“I came to the Law Offices of John M. Phillips after deciding I wanted to move back to my hometown (Jacksonville) after living in St. Petersburg for the previous 7 years,” Reid said. “What specifically brought me to this office was the opportunity to help establish and grow a Criminal Defense practice at a firm that was clearly on the rise and already had an incredible team of lawyers and staff.”

Reid enjoys taking a personal approach to the practice of law by establishing a relationship with each and every client. “Establishing a relationship with each client allows us to understand their story and what they are going through. In addition to the legal issues involved in every case, the ability to present your client as an individual sets their case apart and allows prosecutors to see the whole picture, rather than making a decision based upon how that person is presented in a police report.”

Jacksonville Lawyer Reid Hart Hands out wristbandsReid enjoys spending his free time playing sports, going to concerts and being with his family and friends. “I have always felt it important to take the time to enjoy life and those around you. It makes you a well-rounded person, which will ultimately allow you to perform even better at what you do.”
