Our office threw a party on December 15 and collected several hundred toys. Part of the toys were donated to Children’s Home Society on Tuesday. The rest were delivered to individual families and children in the neighborhood of Ken Knight Drive today. As a hurricane victim, John understands what losing possessions means. However, these families had so much more loss and devastation and losses meant so much more. They still need help and so few are talking about them. We spent the afternoon out there visiting families and handing out some toys. John M. Phillips was joined by Pastor Gundy of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, as well as local righteous crusader Hope McMath and other volunteers. We want to thank them. They have been working in this community since Irma left. John’s 5 year old son, Bennett, also joined him. We are so proud of that young man.
