In conjunction with the National Bar Association, the NAACP sponsored a two-day Seminar at its annual meeting. John was selected as one of its keynote speakers, along with Attorney Ben Crump and Attorney Natalie Jackson, two of the lawyers who represented Trayvon Martin.
It was the 105th NAACP Annual Convention and held in Las Vegas, Nevada. The theme of this year’s convention is, “All In for Justice,” with a focus on voting rights. Phillips spoke on civil rights issues, Stand Your Ground laws, the importance of voting and attending jury duty, and otherwise being a leader at home and in your community.
